Take a look at the first 3 days of creation. Now, take a look at the second 3. Notice anything? Notice how God created light and dark in day one, but we see the sun and moon in day 4. Day 2 we see water in the heavens and water on the Earth and day 5 we see birds in the air and fish in sea. Day 3 we see dry ground and day 6 vegetation and animals.
God created everything in six days, but Genesis folds. It shows that it is also 3.
How interesting...
Day 6 there was rest after creation. Who is our rest and rose from the dead after 3 days? Everything points to Jesus in the Old Testament. Everything is a foreshadow and reflection of the Son, God's poetry is always speaking about Jesus, even from day 1.
Where else do you see the theme of 3 days in the Word?
